Description

Set of six vintage French hard wood (probably beech) country dining chairs with rush seats and ladder backs. Faintly Louis XV style with the shaped legs and tops, and a simple embossed carving on the top bars. Probably made in the 1980s though possibly a bit later. Condition is pretty good structurally: they're all sound enough; one needed glueing and there's perhaps some slight movement in some joints but nothing serious. One chair has had its seat replaced with a similar one. There are two places where the rush seats are damaged slightly and the strands have been glued down (see pics). Cosmetically, other than that, there are various scuffs and scrapes and wear to the finish, showing the lighter natural wood below: in general that's a good look but these would benefit from a waxing or oiling.
